In grades 7-8 the third place winner is Jack McClintock from Weaver Middle School (Hilliard City Schools) for inventing the Ice Buster, a modified drill that scrapes ice off car windows with ease.
In grade 6 the third place winner is Austin Miller from Median Middle School (Franklin School District) for inventing Reed Paint, a flavoring for woodwind instrument reeds.
In grade 5 the third place winner is Maya Velasquez from St. MaryÕs Lancaster for inventing the Peanut Protector Potion, a liquid solution which is dropped onto food to detect the presence of peanuts for those who are allergic.
In grade 4 the third place winner is Megan Entingh from Madison Elementary (Groveport-Madison School District) for inventing the Sneaker Sock, which submerges sneakers in a washing machine, decreasing noise and making for easier washing.
In grade 3 the third place winner is Cody Jude from Scioto Trail Elementary for inventing the Container Strainer, which separates condensation from food in a storage container to prevent food from becoming mushy.
In grades K-2 the third place winner is Katherine Baldwin from Windemere Elementary (Upper Arlington School District) for inventing Bucklemate, which holds a car seat belt buckle upright for easy buckling.
