What Kids Say:

"It gave me a great platform to develop confidence and public speaking. I had an opportunity to be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and to compete on Nickelodeon’s Figure It Out. To everyone who supports the Invention Convention, I send heartfelt thanks for the memories and for the countless opportunities it has given me.

(Advice to students) Dare to dream, and don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Enjoy each and every experience, no matter what the outcome." - Ashley Baker

"The whole experience from finding a problem, discovering a solution, developing the idea and presenting the product proved to me that with a good idea and lots of support from my teacher and my family I could see a project through to the end. It started out as just another assignment and grew into something I really cared about. It was fun! And I'd do it all over again.

(Advice) My advice for other kids is Go for it!! Don't let anyone tell you your idea isn't big enough or serious enough. Just let your mind go and think of something great. Have fun because it really is an unbelievable experience." - Brenna Smith

"When I won the Invention Convention in 3rd grade I didn’t understand why my parents were so excited. My mom was in tears. Now I clearly see what the impact of winning this award will have on my future and how big of a relief it is to my family. It was an amazing experience and has opened a lot of doors for me through the years.

(Advice) The possibilities are endless - with all of the problems in the world, it doesn’t take much to sit down and think of something to produce. It was a great experience and I think every kid should be involved. You will feel a sense of accomplishment no matter what invention you create." - Jenifer Henricks

"The Invention Convention was a great opportunity. The positive energy from so many great kids and good ideas was exciting. I have also enjoyed judging later Invention Conventions and meeting new people in the process.

(Advice) Never give up on an idea. No idea is a bad idea but there are always ways to make it better. Think out your inventions thoroughly and always make improvements. I continued improving my invention even after the Invention Convention." - Jordan Hoffman
