The Invention Convention - Columbus - Home School North Participation.
The Invention Convention is a program designed to inspire, encourage, reward, and recognize students, K-8, for using their creativity and imagination in developing new solutions to everyday problems. The program is both fun and educational for students. It teaches them important life skills and helps them become creative problem solvers. Many of Invention Convention?s young inventors have also taken their ideas to the next level by getting provisional or full patents and/or working with a company to turn their idea into a product that is now in stores. It's a great way to help kids turn an everyday problem into a brilliant invention.
This is a 'home school friendly' competition and numerous homeschoolers have won awards, in fact, homeschoolers won the top prize (Edison Award) in 2004, 2007 and 2008. Our family has been blessed by Invention Convention, and after our kids won Invention Convention in 2004 and 2008, they were inducted into the National Hall of fame, www.nmoe.org and Michael was named one of the top inventors in the country?the article mentions his invention from invention convention, http://www.just-think-inc.com/media/popularscience/popsci_vawter1.html
Anyone who is home schooling in Franklin, Delaware, Licking, Fairfield, Pickaway, Madison, or Union County is eligible to participate in the Home School Invention Convention.
