I.C. Entry Requirments!
FINALISTS MUST BE:
Students from Participating District; Grades K-8; Chosen
by their District (District solely responsible for determining
their finalist representatives.)
FINALISTS MUST HAVE: Won at their district level elimination
round; A completed 'Official 2007-2008 Registration Form' SIGNED
by their Parent/guardian; A completed 'Invention Convention
Journal'; A prototype of their invention - no larger than
2' X 3' & using batteries only.
FINALISTS MUST BE THERE TO WIN. Finalists must be present
at Judging; Finalists must be present to Win; Finalists
must be present to receive their award. (Personally)
TEAM ENTRIES All members must be present at all phases of
the competition; Awards split evenly among all members of
the team.
Student participants will arrive at the venue Friday,
May 16, 2008 between 4:30 and 7:00 p.m. to set up their prototypes.
Students must be at the venue no later than noon on Saturday, May 17, 2008 when official judging interviews begin. Judging will take place from noon-2:30 PM. The Hall will open to public at 2:30 PM. The awards ceremony and scholarship presentation will take place from 4:15 PM - 5:30 PM.
Each student will be interviewed by two Judges. If a team
entry, all members must be present at judging. All must
be present to win. Decision of the Judges are final. The
results are confidential and the property of Invention Convention.
Inventions are evaluated in relation to other inventions
at the same event, not in relation to prior Invention Conventions.
Invention evaluation covers a range of topics which include:
Prototype, Journal, Individual Interviews and Support Materials
as well as: Creativity, Inventiveness, Marketability, Practicality,
Audience Served and Overall Need.
