Welcome
to the Teacher Zone
For over 11 years now, The Invention
Convention and Just Think Inc. have been making a positive impact
in students' lives and in the community. Like you, we believe
children are capable of great things. Our mission is to unlock
a child's potential by encouraging their creativity and helping
them develop problem-solving skills. Improved confidence, aptitude,
and self-esteem will help improve their academic performance,
test scores, and help support your efforts in the classroom.
The success of the kids and The Invention Convention really
relies on teachers like you who encourage and support the students
and their ideas.
The Invention Convention is a privately funded event run by
Just Think Inc., a 501c3 organization, so there are no costs
to your students or school district for participating. The Invention
Convention is formalized it's alignment with The State of Ohio
Board of Education's academic standards in 'Problem Solving,'
'Math/Science,' and 'Technology.'
The Invention Convention has a successful 11 year track in Central
Ohio and is expanding its reach across the State of Ohio. School
districts that have participated in the Invention Convention
have seen direct benefits to their students. Soon we
will be adding testimonials from teachers and superintendents
about the benefits that they've seen in their students.
The value that this program brings to the students is immeasurable.
Problem solving skills are life long skills. One of your goals
is to teach kids to think, the Invention Convention is one tool
that you can use in your classroom to help accomplish this goal.
And did we mention the Teacher of Excellence award? Last year,
Marcella Barrett was nominated by several of her many students she inspires
everyday and won a $1,500 trip to Microcenter and a class trip
to COSI.
The Invention Convention comes to you fully funded, and your
students could win some great prizes including a $2,500 college
scholarship. This is a great opportunity for your students to
show off their talents, learn valuable skills, and possibly
pay for their college education.
Very soon we will be adding video clips of what teachers
and kids have to say about The Invention Convention. You can
find important documents on the 'Teacher
Resources' page of this section.
